Kardham, Pouget Consultants and Sobre Energie official partners of Edurenov
Paris, April 4, 2024 - The consortium made up of Kardham, Pouget Consultants and Sobre Energie, won the call for tenders, launched at the end of 2023, by the Banque des Territoires as part of the implementation of the EduRénov system, a action program dedicated to the energy renovation of school buildings nationwide. The lot concerns the operational deployment of the EduRénov program as Project Management Consulting & Assistance, particularly on the energy and environmental aspects.
As a reminder, EduRénov aims to consolidate the energy renovation effort mainly within the scope of schools, middle schools and high schools. The Banque des Territoires will thus finance €2 billion of work and mobilize €50 million in engineering credit by 2027. The objective is to renovate 10,000 establishments while achieving at least 40% energy savings.
ENERGY RENOVATION OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS: REDUCE GREENHOUSE GASES
The energy renovation of school buildings is essential for achieving the objectives of the National Low Carbon Strategy (SNBC) in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Often old, energy-intensive and poorly adapted to climate change or the heat of summer, the 53,000 school buildings that cover our territory often generate discomfort for the teachers and students who use them on a daily basis.
Their energy renovation therefore constitutes a major challenge for local authorities in financial terms and meets not only the expectations of citizens, but also the regulatory requirements in terms of ecological transformation. Compliance with the Tertiary Eco-Energy System, which concerns a very large part of educational establishments on a national scale, implies the carrying out of large-scale energy saving work (envelope, systems, ENR) to achieve the 2030, 2040 and 2050 objectives set by public authorities.
The key figures for school buildings in France:
- 130 million m², or almost half of the real estate held by local authorities.
- School buildings alone account for nearly 30% of the energy consumption of municipal buildings.
