Energy sobriety is everyone's business.
Each employee, occupant of a tertiary building, has a role to play in saving energy. According to the Sustainable Real Estate Observatory , raising occupants' awareness of good practices makes it possible to achieve 10% to 20% less consumption .
Because the behavior of occupants has a direct and significant impact on consumption:
- Lighting , at one of our clients, we calculated that turning off the lights after a day of work saves 18,000 kWh/year, the equivalent of the energy needed for 11,000 showers in 1 year!
- Heating, lowering the radiator set temperature by 1°C reduces energy consumption by around 7% (source Ademe).
- Cold (air conditioning)
- Specific uses, printing work documents double-sided, represents 400,000 sheets saved/year!
Find out how to easily reduce your heating bill.
Air conditioning, 1°C which changes everything about your consumption
Tools to use
Definition of a set temperature for heating or air conditioning, pooling of office equipment and optimization of work surfaces, all actions requiring limited financial investment.
But often changing behavior in tertiary buildings is not easy and is met with resistance:
- lack of training on energy saving issues
- lack of visibility
- complexity of certain technological tools (setpoint adjustment)
- fear of lacking comfort
At Sobre Energie, our engagement managers are there to support you and remove these obstacles by co-constructing tailor-made engagement tools with your teams : eco-gesture display campaign, newsletter, challenges between teams or buildings, quizzes, climate workshop.
Thanks to our monitoring indicators, our engagement managers adapt and adjust their tools if necessary.

Gently encourage energy saving
Raising awareness of energy issues also involves nudging, or “helping hand” in French:
- the default double-sided printing setting
- the provision of energy consumption data to encourage reduction
- environmental labeling of products.
The use of nudges therefore aims to gently encourage a change in behavior.
By raising awareness of these issues, the first effects in terms of energy savings are quickly visible. Once communicated to the occupants of the building, these significant figures raise even more awareness and thus initiate a virtuous circle.

First savings to finance the work
Initial savings which will then allow in the medium term to finance energy renovation work on your buildings to make further progress.
Objective, comply with the tertiary decree:
- Who? all buildings over 1000m2 (offices, library, school/college, hospitals, etc.)
- What? achieve -40% final energy consumption by 2030. Then -50% by 2040 and -60% by 2050.
To successfully complete the tertiary decree, find out here how we can support you.
At Sobre Energie, we are convinced that the commitment to mobilize all occupants is a pillar of the energy management system. A necessary condition for initiating and, above all, sustaining energy efficiency over time.
